Role Menu

The Role Menu contains all of the roles that can be assigned to a symbol in an equation.

Command	Description
Mathematical Name	The role is a mathematical name. This is the default when typing letters in MATH mode.
Chemical Element	The role is a chemical element. This is the default when typing letters in CHEM mode.
General Text	The role is general text. This is the default when typing anything in TEXT mode.
Standard Function	The role is a standard function. This is automatically applied when function names are detected.
Physical Units	The role is physical units.
Number	The role is a number. This is assigned automatically when a number is typed in MATH mode or CHEM mode.
Operator	The role is an operator. This is assigned automatically when a symbol designated as an operator is typed in MATH mode or CHEM mode.
Relation	The role is a relation. This is assigned automatically when a symbol designated as a relation is typed in MATH mode or CHEM mode.
Arrow	The role is an arrow. This is assigned automatically when a symbol designated as an arrow is typed in MATH mode or CHEM mode.
Unary	The role is a unary operator. This is assigned automatically when a symbol designated as a unary operator is typed in MATH mode or CHEM mode.
Punctuation	The role is punctuation. This is assigned automatically when a symbol designated as punctuation is typed in MATH mode or CHEM mode.
Ellipsis	The role is an ellipsis. This is assigned automatically when a symbol designated as an ellipsis is typed in MATH mode or CHEM mode.
